Artificial intelligence technologies have become one of the fundamental technologies transforming business processes across almost every sector, from manufacturing and healthcare to finance, education, the defence industry, and e-commerce. Today, institutions require not only engineers capable of developing artificial intelligence systems but also qualified technical personnel who can use, operate, and monitor these systems; prepare relevant data; evaluate system outputs; and respond to basic operational problems. The Artificial Intelligence Operations Program aims to train human resources equipped with the practical skills required to meet this need.

In Türkiye, the digitalisation of public services, the increasing use of intelligent systems in the defence industry, the adoption of Industry 4.0 applications in manufacturing facilities, and the implementation of data-driven decision-making systems in the finance, healthcare, education, logistics, and e-commerce sectors are increasing the demand for technical personnel in the field of artificial intelligence. In particular, there is a growing need for highly skilled associate-level technical personnel capable of contributing to the development of domestic and national artificial intelligence solutions, processing large volumes of data, and integrating artificial intelligence applications into institutions’ existing information systems.

Globally, artificial intelligence is developing rapidly through generative artificial intelligence systems, large language models, intelligent assistants, computer vision applications, recommendation systems, autonomous systems, and predictive analytics solutions. The widespread adoption of artificial intelligence systems has increased the importance not only of model development processes but also of operational tasks such as data preparation, data labelling, system installation, model testing, output validation, performance monitoring, security, and user support.

For these reasons, Artificial Intelligence Operations has emerged as an important professional field that ensures artificial intelligence systems are used accurately, securely, ethically, and efficiently in daily business processes.
